About Exmouth
Exmouth is a small township in the North West of Western Australia. Exmouth is not that well known, but we don’t expect it to stay that way! Here are some of the attractions in and around Exmouth:
- whale sharks – the largest fish in the ocean
- manta rays – no barbs, and great personality
- humpback whales – between June and November
- deep sea fishing (some of the best in the world)
- scuba diving – we have one of the world’s top 10 rated shore dives
- snorkelling – snorkel the reef, or with whale sharks and manta rays
- surfing – have you heard about our world class surf breaks?
- national park – the gorges and canyons of Cape Range National Park
Our local residential population is usually 2,600, but during the busy periods our population can swell to over 6,000! While we are a small town, expect high quality food and accommodation.
We are about 1,270 kilometres north of Perth, a great drive if you want to see the real Australia.
You can download this PDF version of our Exmouth Tourism Map to help you find your way around. Because we get so many visitors who love this area, we’ll leave the map open for you to leave comments on your favourite places.
A Visitor Information Centre is available that gives you all sorts of information about accommodation and visitor attractions.
